SAMS and SAMS Enterprise is at the leading edge of understanding and extending know-how in seaweed seeding, cultivation and disease management.
The UC San Diego course consists of introductory seaweed farming techniques, basic seaweed cultivar domestication, and seaweed identification, systematics, and evolutionary relationships.
This professional development program provides introductory training in algal biology, culturing, growth, and biotechnology, with insights into industrial and entrepreneurial applications. The course is offered both online and in-person.
The course addresses the environmental benefits and risks of seaweed farming, suggesting good practices to ensure a sustainable growth of the seaweed farming industry.
