AlgaeProBANOS Annual Meeting in Tromsø: Collaboration in Action

Last month the AlgaeProBANOS consortium gathered in Tromsø, Norway, for our annual meeting, our yearly a chance to reconnect in person, reflect on progress, and strengthen collaboration across work packages and pilot projects.

Hosted by project partner Nofima, the meeting brought together representatives from across the Baltic and North Sea regions.

A highlight of the meeting was a visit from the Mayor of Tromsø, Gunnar Wilhelmsen, who welcomed the project and joined us in tasting seaweed-enhanced fishcakes. The seaweed enchanced fishcakes won the taste test by a mile, howcasing how algae can improve both sustainability and product quality.

We also were visited by local biotech companies contributing to Norway’s growing blue bioeconomy, gaining insights and inspiration for the road ahead.
